Thursday 7.10.25 – Jeremiah 1:4–10

Jeremiah was young and insecure when God called him. His immediate reaction? 'I can’t speak—I’m too young!' But God wouldn’t take no for an answer: 'Do not be afraid—I am with you.' That same promise echoes for us today. God equips those who are called—and often calls those who don’t feel ready.

What excuse have you been giving God lately? Maybe it’s time to hear God's reassurance again.

Reflect: Imagine God speaking directly to you: 'Do not be afraid—I am with you.' What do you need to hear in those words today?

Pray: God of courage, speak into my fear. Remind me that you are with me and will equip me for what you call me to do. Amen.

Each time someone disagreed with him, challenged him, or simply made him uncomfortable, he drew another line to put them on the outside. Over time, his circle got smaller and smaller. In a world that feels uncertain, God offers a solid foundation. The psalmist’s confidence comes not from an absence of danger but from the assurance of God’s presence. When we feel lost, God is our guiding light, showing us the next step forward. Action Steps: Write down a fear that you are carrying today and pray for God’s light to shine on it. Take a short walk outside, focusing on the light around you—whether it is sunlight or artificial light—and reflect on God as your light.
